Dear Family and Friends:

During the Pandemic year lakshmi Dream Foundation (LDF) made significant contributions to many organizations whereby helping the underprivileged in our society here in the United States, in India and in many other Foreign countries.

In the United States LDF contributed to:
1) Share & Care Foundation
2) St. Jude's Children's Research
3) Baton Rouge American Cancer Society
4) The Family Promise of New Jersey
5) End Hunger Organization and Pizza for Heroes
6) Warm Jackets for the underprivileged children from Paterson, NJ
7) Habitat for Humanity

In India:
1) Cash contribution for Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity, Calcutta
2) Back packs for Jestha Primary School children in Gurgaon
3) Japaneses made Desks for classrooms in Nathuram Primary School, Gurgaon
4) 10 Beds for the Indian Spinal Injury Hospital, for COVID patients, New Delhi
5) Ration bags for the Poor during Covid. We helped over 100 Families

In Colombia:
1) For the school children LDF made a cash contribution so that they could purchase soccer shoes.

In Honduras:
1) LDF made a cash contribution for the children to purchase uniforms.

Current Projects: LDF is working with the School Administrator in the Sikh Humanitarian Society, Rohini, India to provide a Desk Top Computer and a Printer for use by the children in the Girls School.
This donation is in memory of our brother Amar Nath Bhatia who passed away because of COVID.

LDF is also working with the Rotary Qutab Enclave Club to fund the purchase of sweaters, socks and gloves for 400 children of Sikendarpur Primary School, Gurgaon, India.

<Update :: 2021

LDF distributed backbacks to the children of the Jestha Primary School in Gurgaon. The backpacks were distributed to the school children with school supplies.

LDF also made cash contributions, during this Carona environment to Mother Theresa's Missionaries of Charity and also other good causes in Calcutta. In Delhi we have distributed basic food items to the poor. We are currently working on collecting cash contributions from Rotary members and friends through our organization to help the people impacted by the Pandemic.

Rotarians have met with the Government Officials in India and based upon the needs discussed, and their recomendations and the NGO the local Rotarians have funded, we have sent monies for adding ten additional beds to the COVID wing of the Indian Spinal injuries Centre.

Rations for the poor:
LDF also started to give staple food like Atta, Rice and other household items to the many poor families during the lockdown period.

Update :: 2020

This year LDF made cash contributions to the St. Jude’s Children Research as well as the larger Baton Rouge Center for Food action. We also contributed to the Baton Rouge Cancer Center.

In the Education area we helped the children of Nathuram Elementary School in association with the Rotary Club of Qutab Enclave (Gurgaon) as well as Contributions made in memory of Shri Anand Kumar (NJ) by providing them with desks for the classroom. The desks have been delivered to the school. Unfortunately, the children are not able to use them as the school remain closed due to COVID-19.

"Community Outreach Award" in memory of Remal Das & Lakshmi Bai Bhatia:

The endowment gift comes with an associated annual award made possible by the Lakshmi Dream Foundation in honor of Remal Das & Lakshmi Bai Bhatia. Mr. Bhatia was a member of the Rotary Club in Delhi and devoted his time working on projects helping the under privileged in our society. The Remal Das &
Lakshmi Bai Bhatia award is presented annually to a student who works hands on, on a community outreach project that improves the lives of the underprivileged, and truly exemplifies the meaning of “service above self”.

The Foundation established the award at St. Columba's School , New Delhi, India in 2007.

Update:: 2013
LDF continues to sponsor two additional students to the two year para-medical course. The previous students have graduated and obtained gainful employment.

The Lakshmi Dream Foundation is pleased to sponsor two students studying for the two year para-medical course. The Foundation is working with the Vidya Kendar in Rohini, New Delhi.
