Lakshmi Dream Foundation support efforts of other organizations as well as develops programs to provide treatment to children with deformities such as Cleft lips and palates and other disabilities and illnesses.

Update:: 2019

This year LDF made cash contributions to the Sanatam Mandir in Parsippany, New Jersey and the Share and care Foundation and the I Mela organization. LDF also Contributed to St. Judes Children Research as well as the Baton Rouge Center for food action. We helped the children of Sikanderpur Govt. Primary School in association with the Rotary Club of Qutab Enclave. Gurgaon in contributing over 300 sweaters to the children on November 14 which is the “Children’s Day” that was started by Late Prime Minister Nehru.

In association with the Lioness Club of Patel Nagar LDF provided funds for 200 sweaters for the children of the following three schools. SGTB Khalsa School in Dev Nagar, Swayam Shikshs Trust in Pashim Vivar and the Bharat Blind Society in Madan Nagar , Delhi.

Update:: 2018
LDF established its first Sewing & Embroidery center in Delhi, for the young under privileged girls.Ten Singer Machines were delivered to the center. At the inauguration the Machines were received by the President of the Center. Friends and family members were there too. LDF plans to set up 25 such centers in and around Delhi, when locations have been identified and made available. As in the past years LDF, along with members of the Rotary Clubs of Northern Valley and Great Falls distributed warm jackets to the children at the New Destiny Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Balloons, Face painting and Popcorn made the children enjoy there visit.

Update:: 2016-2017
LDF continued its efforts of providing warm jackets to various organizations for distribution to the under privileged children in Bergen Hudson and Passaic counties. LDF also sent cash contributions to the Sanatam Mandir in Parsippany, New jersey, to the Share & Care Foundation and to the UN for the 1m!B chartable effort. In early 2017 LDF purchased 16 wheel chairs from a manufacturer in Ludhiana, India for distribution to the Delhi State Cancer Institute in Dilshard Gardens, Delhi. Pictures of the Director and CEO of the center receiving the wheel chairs along with friends and family members are attached. This donation was made in memory of our dear brother Prem Bhatia.

LDF is currently working with the Singer Machine Company in Delhi, India for purchasing such machines for setting up a Lakshmi Dream Foundation Sewing center for teaching young under privileged women, sewing and embroidery skills.

Update:: 2015-2016
LDF continued in its effort of providing warm jackets to various non-profit organizations, for distribution to the under privileged children in Bergen Hudson and Passaic counties. LDF also sent cash contributions to help the people in Chennai (India), for the families impacted by the flash floods. Rice and bed sheets were distributed to the families.

LDF continued in its efforts of providing warm jackets to various non-profit organizations, for distribution to the under privileged children in Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties. This year we could purchase a large number of jackets from Operation Warm as our cash contribution was matched by Northern Valley Rotary Club ( my club) and the Groupon, Inc..

LDF contributed funds for the installation of a Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System at the Capt. Chandan Lal Special School for the visually disabled children in Gurgaon, India. This project with the Plaque titled "Prem Dhara" was completed in memory of Prem Bhatia.

Update:: 2013
LDF continued in its efforts in providing warm jackets to various non-profit organizations in Bergen and Passaic counties, for distribution to under privileged children. The beneficiaries included Family Promise of Ridgewood, Shelter our Sisters, Community Chest of Englewood and the YMCA in Garfield, New Jersey. This year we also enlarged our scope and added the Office of St. Cecilia in Englewood and through the Great Falls Rotary Club in Paterson provided jackets to the Homeless Shelter in Paterson.

During my trip to Japan in August, 2013 on an outreach mission with members from 9/11 community, Mount. Sinai Global Health and Rotary International, I had an opportunity to visit many people living in Temporary Housing. These people were impacted by the Great East Japan Earthquake, Tsunami and the Nuclear Power Plant Accident. LDF made connections with the members of the Iwate Prefecture and provided assistance in helping the foster children. Pictures from the children’s visit to Bellgardia can be viewed.

LDF also provided assistance through cash distributions to the Hunger Initiative on Martin Luther King Day, The Hindu Samaj of Bergen County, the Bergen County Child Development Center and the Shoshit Seva Sang for the Musahar Children of Bihar. LDF has also continued funding for two students tuition at the Vidya Kender. These students are studying a two year para Medical course.

Update:: 2012

In 2012 LDF provided children's jackets and coats to various non-profit organizations in Bergen and Passaic counties in New Jersey including: Family Promise of Ridgewood, Bergen Family Center, Shelter our Sisters, Community Chest. In addition to the above Raj Bhatia visited the Garfiled YMCA and delivered the jackets to Director. Besides providing warm jackets, LDF provided cash contributions to the Deep Ashram, part of Mother Teresa Charities of Kolkota, in Gurgaon for the challenged children who are residents of that Ashram and to the Shoshit Seva School in Patna, Bihar for the benefit of the Musahars' children from poor villages who are studying in that school.

Lakshmi Dream Foundation donates warm jackets to a number of local charities
As in the past year, Lakshmi Dream Foundation donated warm jackets to a number of local charities,for distribution to the children in need in 2011 also. Suraj Bhatia, personally delivered the jackets to the Family Promise in Ridgewood, Community Chest in Englewood and the Volunteer Center of Bergen County, in Hackensack. Distribution of jackets has become an annual event.

Deepashram
Established on 8th November 1994 as a Society with the State Government in India, Deepashram shelters and cares for at present 43 mentally and/or physically handicapped boys and men in Gurgaon. Deepashram is run by the Society of the Missionary Brothers of Charity Contemplative of Mother Teresa of Calcutta.

Lakshmi Dream Foundation provides coats for the children in the Bergen County area
The coats were given to the following Organizations: Bergen Family Center and Shelter our Sisters. LDF also helped Center for Food Action, Gift of Life Foundation and the Akshaya Patra Foundation. Akshaya Patra foundation feeds 1.2 million children everyday in India through their nineteen distribution centers.

Capt. Chandan Lal School for visually impaired children
On a recent visit to Gurgaon, India, Suraj Bhatia visited the Capt. Chandan Lal School for visually impaired children. The school has over 600 children from kindergarten to eighth grade. The children showed the visitors a tour of their facilities, which included a sample of their musical talents, their science and math labs and how they are able to keep up with the educational standards given to regular sighted children. The Foundation was able to donate a Water Cooler for Drinking water for their kitchen.

The Foundation is also in the process of setting an exercise room for the 84 girl’s orphanage in Faridabad. This was discussed with Anamika Rishi, Director of Araya Kanya Sadan when Suraj visited them in February 2009.
